Opshop.kiwi is the online marketplace built specifically to showcase the incredible treasures found in New Zealand's verified charity shops and specialist community retailers. We exist to make secondhand shopping easy, reliable, and rewarding.

The Story: From Passion to Platform

The concept for opshop.kiwi was born out of a deep-seated need for a better way to do online thrifting in NZ. With nearly 30 years of experience in retail, including managing charity shops, I saw the challenges firsthand.

The idea quickly expanded: Why just showcase one store when I could help many? The final platform came to life recently: while on a period of medical leave, I needed a project to keep me focused, so I poured my energy into building this from the ground up to support the community I love.

It is a true passion project, and we are currently in testing mode and finishing up the last bits of development this month!

We exist to support New Zealand’s recycling mission, one shop at a time. By purchasing pre-loved items, you are contributing to vital community causes. This journey began with my own consignment store, AnotherTimeAround (our foundational store), and now we are proud to offer this hub for shops across Aotearoa.
