Shipping Within New Zealand
We are pleased to offer shipping to locations throughout New Zealand.
Please note: At this time, the opshop.kiwi platform only facilitates shipping within New Zealand.
Delivery Fee Calculation
We use a Fixed Delivery Fee model to ensure transparent and predictable shipping costs for our customers. Your total shipping cost is calculated based on a fixed charge applied by each individual store you purchase from.
How the Fixed Fee is Calculated
Each store sets an approved Shipping Schedule, which outlines their fixed shipping charges. These fees are designed to be comprehensive and cover all necessary logistics:
- Per-Store Fixed Charge: A separate, fixed shipping fee is applied for every individual store you purchase from in a single transaction.
- Comprehensive Coverage: The fixed rate set by the seller is calculated to fully cover the costs of packaging, postage, standard delivery, and Rural Delivery (RD) surcharges. Additional fees maybe payable for some regional services, i.e Great Barrier Island
- Weight-Based Tiers: Depending on the store, the fixed fee may be a single flat rate, or it may be a tiered rate based on the product's weight (e.g., up to 1kg, 1kg-3kg). The platform automatically applies the correct charge at checkout based on the weight provided by the seller.
Example:
If you purchase items from Store A and Store B in one transaction, your total delivery fee will be:
(Store A's Fixed Shipping Fee) + (Store B's Fixed Shipping Fee).
The total shipping cost for your order will always be clearly displayed as a separate charge from the item price on the product page and at checkout before you finalize your purchase.
Delivery Times
Delivery times may vary depending on the individual store and your location. Once your order is dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email, often including a tracking number (where available) to follow the progress of your delivery.
Please allow 3 to 7 business days for your order to arrive. If you have any concerns about your delivery timeline, please contact the specific store you purchased from.
Large or Non-Standard Items
In rare cases where an item is unusually large or over the store's standard weight limit (e.g., furniture or very heavy items), the seller may need to factor an additional, exceptional shipping cost into the item's sales price.
If this is the case, the seller will clearly explain the additional charge in the product description. The standard Shipping Fee from the seller's approved schedule will still be applied at checkout.
International Shipping Inquiries
opshop.kiwi cannot currently process or ship orders to addresses outside of New Zealand.
However, many of our independent sellers may be able to facilitate international shipping directly. If you are outside of New Zealand and wish to purchase an item, we recommend you:
- Contact the individual store directly to inquire about their own international shipping policies, costs, and arrangements.
- The store can then process shipping with you directly, outside of the opshop.kiwi platform.
- For stores that regularly ship overseas and have a fixed international rate, they may list a separate 'product' on the site to cover these overseas shipping costs.
