Progress happening behind the scenes
Itβs been a little quiet on updates, but not on activity.
Behind the scenes, conversations have been turning into onboarding, and onboarding is now turning into real inventory.
Three new stores are now in the process of coming onboard.
πͺ Different stores, different approaches
Each of these stores is approaching OpShop.Kiwi differently, which is exactly how it should be.
- One store is joining under Tier 3 (Full Concierge)
- Others are working through their own setup and listing process
The Concierge model continues to prove important.
Not every store has the time, systems, or confidence to list online, and that is where hands on support removes the barrier completely.
At the same time, self managed stores are just as important. The platform needs to work for both.
π¦ Stock is starting to flow
With new vendors comes the next step, more items going live.
This is where the shift happens.
A marketplace only becomes real when there is depth, when people can browse, discover, and find something worth buying.
That transition is now underway.
π A new type of seller: ConsignIt
One of the new stores, ConsignIt, introduces a slightly different model.
Instead of sourcing stock in the traditional way, they work with individuals who do not have the time to sell items themselves.
- Items are collected or received
- Prepared and listed professionally
- Sold on behalf of the owner
This unlocks a completely different layer of supply.
Good items already exist, they are just not making it to market.
That is the gap ConsignIt helps fill.
π§ What is becoming clear
There is no shortage of second hand stock in New Zealand.
The constraint has always been:
- Time to list
- Knowledge of how to sell online
- Access to the right platform
OpShop.Kiwi is starting to address that from multiple angles.
π Where things are heading
More vendors onboarding.
More listings going live.
More variety building across the platform.
This is still early, but it is no longer just setup.
It is starting to move.
As more stores come onboard, the range will continue to grow, and that is where this becomes something people can genuinely explore.
