Vendor Agreement Summary
This page provides a plain-English overview of the key commercial and operational terms contained in the OpShop.Kiwi Vendor Agreement. It summarises commission, promotional rates, shipping requirements, listing standards, and returns.
Who Can Sell on OpShop.Kiwi
- OpShop.Kiwi is a Business-to-Consumer (B2C) marketplace.
- Only registered businesses, professional dealers, and established charitable organisations may sell.
- Consumer-to-Consumer (C2C) or casual private sellers are not permitted.
- By registering, Vendors confirm they are operating in trade and comply with New Zealand consumer law.
Fees and Commission (Standard Rates)
There are no registration or listing fees. Commission is charged only when an item sells and applies to the Item Price only. Shipping fees are excluded from commission.
The standard commission structure is tiered by monthly sales volume and depends on the level of service provided. Your applicable commission tier (A, B, or C) reflects the service level selected for your store.
| Monthly Sales Volume Required (NZD) | Commission Tier A Self-Service |
Commission Tier B Hybrid Support |
Commission Tier C Full Concierge |
|---|---|---|---|
| $0.00 – $1,000.00 (Default New Store Rate) |
13% | 33% | 43% |
| $1,000.01 – $5,000.00 | 10% | 30% | 40% |
| $5,000.01 and above | 7% | 27% | 37% |
- Tier A (Self-Service): Vendor manages listings, photography, descriptions, and inventory.
- Tier B (Hybrid Support): Vendor provides item selection and basic content; OpShop.Kiwi provides technical upload and optimisation support.
- Tier C (Full Concierge): OpShop.Kiwi provides full listing, photography, and management services (subject to availability).
- Commission tiers are reviewed monthly based on the previous calendar month’s sales volume.
Founding Vendor Promotional Commission (BETA Offer)
During the OpShop.Kiwi BETA phase and as a thank-you for early participation, eligible Vendors approved as Founding Vendors receive a fixed promotional commission rate for a limited time.
The Founding Vendor promotional commission is calculated as a 50% reduction of the Default New Store Commission Rate (the $0.00 – $1,000.00 band) for the Vendor’s assigned service tier (Tier A, Tier B, or Tier C).
This promotional rate applies to all sales volume during the promotional period, regardless of monthly sales total, and temporarily overrides the standard volume-based commission tiers.
| Founding Vendor Promotional Rate | Tier A Self-Service |
Tier B Hybrid Support |
Tier C Full Concierge |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50% of Default New Store Rate | 6.5% | 16.5% | 21.5% |
- The Founding Vendor promotional commission remains in effect until 30 June 2026.
- From 1 July 2026, commission automatically reverts to the standard tiered commission structure shown above.
- OpShop.Kiwi reserves the right to confirm eligibility for Founding Vendor status and to administer commission calculations in accordance with the Vendor Agreement.
